All this talk about change outs made me think about when was the last time I saw certain light sources lighting public roads in my area. Anyway, here's the list for my area:

Incandescent - Last lone missout incandescent gumball was removed around 2012.

HO/VHO Fluorescent - Last town I knew with them got rid of theirs in 2015.

Mercury - I think there are some small towns up north that still have small amounts of mercury lights in use

LP Sodium - Last expressway with them got rid of them in 2006

HP Sodium - Still in use

Metal Halide - Still in use

Privately Owned Lights:

Incandescent - I don't think I ever saw a parking lot with incandescent.

HO/VHO Fluorescent - a few parking lots still have them in use.

Mercury - a few parking lots still have them in use.

LP Sodium - I think there's still a couple of parking lots with them but I'm not sure because the lamps are no longer made.

HP Sodium - Still in common use.

Metal Halide - Still in common use.

Incandescent - Never seen it.

HO/VHO Fluorescent - Few gas stations still have fixtures, but not sure if used.

Mercury - Still quite a few MV NEMAs and cobras in older parts of town.

LP Sodium - Never seen of it.

HP Sodium - Still in wide use, and installed by Duke Energy (AEL 115)

Metal Halide - Still in use at parking lots, last new install I know of was at Publix (2016) Don't know of it on actual roadways.

Incandescent - Only in a couple of parking lots.

Mercury Vapor - Parts of Santa Clara still use it.

LP-Sodium - Still very common in San Jose.

HP-Sodium - Still very common.

Incandescent - Nope.
Fluorescent - At some lots but all abandoned.
MV - Four OV-25s here. Half work at any given time.
HPS - Some intersections, some reproduction lights, and some PAL lights are still HPS here.
MH - Many parking lots here.
LPS - Only ever saw one. Got destroyed when the building was torn down.

INC - Yes, residential bucket style lights
MV  - Yes, both residential and utility lights
HPS - Yes, both residential and utility lights
MH  - Yes, parking lots and bike path lights
LED - Yes, Scattered about in random places.
FL  - Yes, some gas station parking lot lights
LPS - No. I likely own the only lamps within a 20 mile radius lol.

Incandescent - Never seen it here

Fluorescent - We had one by my school in 2017, gone now

Mercury - In neighbouring town of Congleton in 1993

LP Sodium - In our hometown 2017, only a couple still in use today

HP Sodium - Still in use in neighbouring town of Winsford, only one left in a post top in our town

Metal Halide - Very rarely used here, seen the odd one in HPS lanterns dotted about, but were never used in mass

Incandescent - Never seen one, been phased out in Sweden since forever.

Fluorescent - A few on older industrial buildings around town but never seen one for roadway lighting.

Mercury - There is only two installations with a total of five lanterns maintained by the municipal power company still in service, but quite a few on older factories and older houses. Mostly "byhattar".

LP Sodium - There is a few here and there in Gothenburg, but i dont think they are in service. None left here in town.

HP Sodium - These are everywhere.

Metal Halide - These are getting more and more common as retrofits in HPS fixtures around town. The whole central area of town is fitted with MH lanterns.

Los Angeles area

Incandescent: Quite a few, most on series circuits

Fluorescent: Last fluorescent lights taken down in Los Angeles around 2002 or so.

Mercury Vapor: Still some remaining

High Pressure Sodium: The most common in So Cal, more so than even LED

Low Pressure Sodium: Still some in southern Riverside County

Metal Halide: Still quite a few in use. Some MH street lighs lamped with MV lamps.  Compton, CA is all MH.

Incandescent: Never seen it on roads here
Fluorescent:  Never seen it on roads here, but there are some old businesses with it
Mercury Vapor: Still around in some areas
High Pressure Sodium:  All I have to do is look out the window at home
Low Pressure Sodium:  Never seen it on roads here
Metal Halide: Rare to see it on roads here
Induction: There was one park that had it on roads/parkinglots/walkways, but was replaced with LED

In our town were I’m maintaining the lights currently:
Gas Mantle: 1924
Incandescent: 2005 (certain fixtures could be still used with them)
Fluorescent: 2017 (one I still keep in service unofficially)
Compact Fluorescent: still in use (2D, PL-L and PL-C types)
Mercury Vapor: 2018 (one I still keep in service unofficially)
Self Ballasted Mercury Vapour: 2009
High Pressure Sodium: still widely used
WhiteSON: still in use but only 50W, 100W and 35W I removed 2015
Low Pressure Sodium: 1998
Metal Halide: still used but only CHM type
Induction: since 1996 one in use up today (Philips QL 85W/830)

Incandescent:
- I saw incandescent bulbs on old streetlights near Le Louvre in Paris in 2006 or 2008 (I think now they have been converted).
- I also saw pear-shaped incandescent bulb around 2005 in La Défense near Paris, which I think were normally traffic signal bulbs (because of the shape and the warmer tint) that were used on the ceiling of a public porch, probably instead of spot bulbs.

Fluorescent: when I was a kid in the 1980's and still a few in the early 1990's. I think I saw a few in a Canadian village as streetlights probably 5 or 10 years ago, but I'm really not sure.

Metal Halide: there are some in a few commercial avenues, I probably saw them near my job a couple of days ago.

Mercury Vapor: I knew some as streetligts in Paris 10 years ago. I still see some in Canada but it's very rare.

LP-Sodium: some highways still have them around Montreal, the latest I saw was three days ago.

HP-Sodium: I saw them today

On our trip down south we saw LPS lighting in the wild, and Ria was so distracted by this wonderful sight that we went the wrong way.!

Yes, it was wonderful, I'm not sure but I think they were 180W lamps, although they could have been 135W. A rare sight these days, that's for sure, we hope they remain for a long time to come 

Incandescent - Yes, maybe. at a street of my city that I don't remember, and the bulb was replaced bay a cheap junk CFL.

Fluorescent - Never

Mercury - Yes, at Exposition street in the center of the city when I ride of ob the bus.

LP Sodium - Never

HP Sodium - Most of the fixtures

Metal Halide - Still in use

LED - Everywhere that I look. 

My city is not too lightnig assortment, MV and MH are quite rare in my city, HPS and LED are common.
