I remember in December 2007, we were wanting some battery powered Christmas lights to go on a post in yard. They were hard to find then and even then probably $10 for a set with only 10 lights. Plus, they used C or D batteries I think 3 or 4.
This year, I have seen a set of at least 10 LED lights at Dollar Tree for $1, plus they only take two AA batteries to run, and for longer than the others would have.
It's kind of interesting how much the technology and prices have changed. In a way it's a good thing for applications like these to use the LED. And the prices have gotten much cheaper.
