How are fire alarm strobes wired? I might get one from the ReStore if they are easy enough to wire.

I have a Edwards 757 horn strobe and a System Sensor Spectralert horn strobe. They're easy to wire. Just a simple terminal block on the back. I ordered a plug in adapter for them.

No not 120v. You'll fry them lol. I can't remember what voltage they are. You'll have to do a little research online to see what voltage they are or wait until you receive it and look at the specs on it. I think they run on DC so I ordered a plug in transformer to convert. They're low voltage too. It's been so long I don't remember.

I think it's less. It's been like 7 years since I ordered them and I haven't paid attention to the labels on them really since then.

I know lightinglover8902 on here, has some fire alarms, and an alarm panel too.

Collect vintage incandescent and fluorescent fixtures. Also like HID lighting and streetlights.

Do you need an alarm panel to use fire alarms?

Some of them just get 12V from a relay contact so no. Some new fancy ones most likely do use some data bus (CAN ? RS485 ?) which protocol might or might not be proprietary to the manufacturer. I would guess that it is

All commercial United States equipment will be 24 volt DC. You can just run 24 volts to them and watch them flash!

Mine work. I have tried it with my EST 757 horn strobe and my System Sensor SpecrAlert horn strobe. I ordered a 24VDC plug in wall adapter and cut the end off and connected the wires to the terminals on the back of the unit.
