Titanic (and sister ship Olympic) were fitted with about 10,000 lamps ranging from 16 to 100 candlepower (the majority were 16 to 25cp), most of them being Tantalum filament lamps.

seems like it would be bad if someone came in contact with a loose wire at 100v dc. was it grounded in some way? that is fascinating.
