Can you run 125 watt mercury lamps on 100w MH ballast? « on: October 11, 2019, 04:51:50 PM » Author: HomeBrewLamps
I've come to the realization that the "70 watt" metal halide ballast I have is actually an M90 ballast. Can it run anything other than 100 watt metal halides? I only intend on stocking 70 and 175 watt variants so this ballast may well be useless if I can't find another lamp type.

I've been mistakenly running 70 watt halides and 100 watt mercury lamps on it.

Yes. 35w runs 50w MV. 70w runs 100w MV and 100w runs 125w MV. Disconnect the ignitor on all.

Why you need to run MV lamps on lower wattage when fitted with HPS/MH ballast. For example why you have to run 50W on 35W ?50w is 50W right ?

Alright that's good to know! That means I could stock some European lamps now. Although not at the top of my priorities right now...

Atleast over here Pulse Start MH lamps in the low power ratings follow HPS specs. So for the same power they are higher current lamps than Mercs. The current is about right for 1 step higher power Merc lamp

据我网友说他们那最早期时是125W外镇流型汞灯,然后后来换成了110W钠灯,触发器直接串联在原来的汞灯镇流器上,没有更换镇流器。
