We have got some pretty wicked thunderstorms going on in the mid-west right now, some of which are apparently dropping the large/violent tornadoes. Not the greatest situation considering the fact that this is a night time occurrence. Hopefully every one will be okay. Part of the south of the U.S, for tomorrow, is under a very rare *high risk* for severe weather. That is the highest risk possible. A significant tornado outbreak will likely happen, and large wedge tornadoes are expected. There could be F5 tornadoes. This could be a life threatening situation for those of you who live down south, so please be on guard.

Yes, I saw a lot of coverage of that on the Weather Channel tonight. We are supposed to get the thunderstorms Sunday night/Monday morning, but I’m surprised we haven’t been forecast for it sooner.
Be safe out there!

The current storms have weakened and most of them no longer contain Tornado Warnings as of now, but obviously that will change with daytime heating later today. The Tornado Watch has reached my area, so I'm of course on the lookout for here as well, but I'm thinking most, if not all of the Thunderstorms down south will become classic Supercell Thunderstorms. Well structured Supercell storms that will easily create F5, long track tornadoes.

Yep.. major severe weather outbreak. 28 tornado reports last night (which doesn't actually mean 28 tornadoes - as a tor can have more than one report), that number will change some over the next as things are verified.
The low-pressure center thats driving this "closed off" (ie: became a Closed-Low, not just a trough) over CO yesterday...was too far east, all I got was alittle bit of snow & some rain.
As for today the storms are forecast to be stronger & more numerous. Below are the Storm Prediction Center Convective(ie:thunderstorm) Outlook, and Tornado Outlook for today... Seeing a setup like this almost guarantees there will be violent severe storms, and tornadoes(quite possibly EF3+) this afternoon/night.
I kinda wish I could be out there, camcorder at the ready. .lol. (in reality, no laughing matter on this one...for anyone in the affected areas, keep a close watch on the weather today & tonight)

So far, as much as I hate to say it, these storms have apparently killed 20 people, based on what I'm reading in the news. Those news stories are new, some of which have popped up only around 20 minutes ago. Damage images are beginning to pop up online and the images I'm seeing so far look to be significant. The storms continue to move closer to Alabama at a fast clip, and we've still got plenty of daylight time left. I really hope those people heed those warnings.

When I'm walking home from school, it's about 36degC. Not super hot, but after half an hour of that every day, it gets real old. Thankfully winter is coming soon!

Usually I collect bulbs (Mostly LED) and some HID ones. I also own a couple of streetlights, but most are made in Poland.
However, I mostly prefer SOX bulbs. LED bulbs in their efficacy will never beat SOX bulbs, in my opinion.

Yep, that was certainly a bad severe-weather outbreak (though could have been worse, as the system weakened some from the original forecasts yesterday) 41 tornado reports yesterday, 46 the day before ... and *hundreds* of reports for large hail & wind damage (well over 1000 total from fri-today)

Yeah I noticed there weren't many classic/violent Supercell storms on Saturday, compared to Friday night. There were still damaging tornadoes that formed on Saturday, but things weren't any where close to being as bad, which is good to see. The death totals are far less than what I expected to hear as well, which is also good to know, although it's of course very sad hearing that people died in this event, mainly from Friday night storms. Also, there was apparently an earthquake during this, in Mississippi, from what I hear.
