Got a ton of snow today.

I think around 18-24 inches which is really rare for my area at once. The last time it snowed this much might have been the big one back in the beginning of 1999. At least it's not too cold, only -6°C/21°F.

Hey, at least you can save on electricity and use your back garden as a fridge.

It'll probably be fun to ski on and to look at but not fun when you have to shovel the stuff away or drive on it. :curse:

Speaking of using the outside of a fridge, there's a uninsulated store room in the basement of most houses here that's probably built for that. I usually keep my pop in there during the winter lol.

Driving on hard packed snow can be fun if you're prepared for it.  :wndr:

Got 4" of snow on Friday afternoon...obviously doesn't qualify as "severe" (hardly can even be called a 'storm', though it would be more than just a 'snow shower')
Can certainty use the precipitation, every little bit is good against the drought here.

Try riding a MOTORCYCLE, during a windy day. I've done it. It was not fun.

As for our weather here in Dayton Ohio, I generally don't care to talk about the snow storms unless it's really, really bad. I hate winter, with a passion.
We got about 3 inches of snow that fell while I was at the movies with a friend. The drive home was not fun, and drifting snow at times took place
while we were on the highway, making the drive a bit tough. I... guess I can count this as severe weather...?

Try riding a motorcycle in snow. I learned to ride a bike three years before I passed my car test. During that time, it was my only transport. Riding to work at 5.30am on country lanes with a mixture of sleet, snow and ICE was even less fun  @-@

To be honest, I thought most people put away their motorcycles for the winter but I suppose if you got the right set of tires it's doable.

Well if you've got a car, then yes, but some people only have a motorcycle, like I did at the time, so it was a case of ride in the snow or not get to work, and I needed the job..!

Over on this side of the pond, 4" of snow would count as a major headline news item.!  :poof:

yeah, though imagiane that as a tail wind while riding a bike! that'd be insane!
That would be a nice tail-wind for riding a bike...but it wouldn't be insane .lol. like I say, its really not that strong of a wind gust! Try doubling it (which has happened here) now that would be insane to be out riding in!

Yep! its all about location when talking about snow :)

------------------

Snowed again today, but less than 2", deff not even something you can call a "storm" .. here .lol.
Wednesday & into the night we had freezing drizzle, again not 'severe' or even a 'storm'... but nasty stuff. Everything was coated with a very thin layer of "glass" (ie: ice).
Honestly one of the types of weather I hate most.
