Since I got a radio from Academy Sports and Outdoors, which they have a 50% off clearance event on some stuff that they got. I got a radio that costs $10 that has an 80's or 90's look to it and it actually has short wave bands, two of them. And lightning can be detected by the two short wave bands just like the AM radio would detect lightning.

That's a pretty cool radio, that it has a cassette player but also USB/SD card ports too.

Although, I've heard lightning on FM radio too, when I was in a parking lot and it was striking nearby.
