He probably wasn't. He is a bit cavalier about how he does things. However after seeing work he's done with his power supplies, he's a very serious engineer of some kind. There is a very high margin of safety built into each of his experiments simply by him being the one to conduct them in an environment that he creates.

From what I can tell this machine was in some way defective, and he then tested it to destruction. He isn't reckless in what he does, it's carefully calculated mayhem.
I would do that.. even before i saw this video... and it sure would not be that carefully calculated... I'd just make sure i was behind a wall or something while it self destructed.

MissRia, ... You actually talk to Photonicinduction?! I've been a fan of his channel since 2012... his videos are some of the only non-motorcycle related videos I watch on YouTube, and there's a reason for it. His YouTube content is very entertaining!

Yeah I agree, if at all possible, that'd be awesome. Especially since Photon knows you. And it's good to know the dude is alive. I was getting kind of concerned.

I watched this video, and the lamp (Which is a GE Gemi 12,000W short-arc MH lamp) is huge. But why it is black after turning off? My 70W MH lamps aren't black after turning off from full output.

I think it's probably from whatever in the lamp being vaporized. It probably clears up once it's cooled down.

Sox35, are you literally visiting Photon? If so, let him know there are tons and tons of people out there wondering if he's alright, like Suzukir122, and so on. haha

How do you know Photon on a personal level though? You're truly friends with him in person?

Another channel (Wayne's Electrical) has a few videos with Photon, the most recent one being from three months ago where he melted some wrenches with a high current transformer (Seen Here).
