If the Daylight tube really emit daylight spectrum, it can serve as a grow light, right?

Nothing (and no, I don't hide Cannabis ) but I was wondering about the Daylight capacity of replacing special Plant tubes.

I will surely try this someday, or a comparison of two plants, one under Daylight tube and the other under the special plant light for seeing the difference of growing.

I've heard that the 5000k-5500k full spectrum lamps are better. They have more color spectrum than the daylight which are mostly strong in the blue. I have house plants growing good under some 40w Duro-test Vitalites.

Same as lighting for acuariums as well. But we use 10k flourscent lamps and double ended MH lamps. They make lt look blueish to siumlate the ocean and help grow acuatic plant life as well.

I would use a 2 lamp shoplight or similar fixture. I would use a combination of Warm white(3000 or 3500k) and daylight tubes(6500k). It will help balance out the blues and reds on the Kelvin spectrum.

If you use Triphosphor lamps, i guess mixing 6500K with 3000K/2700K would be quite similar to using 4000K lamps, as each of them is a mix of the same 3 Phosphor components to begin with
Plants vary, but most of them need "something" in the Blue end and "something" in the Red/Orange end. For the latter, HPS gives far more than you'd achieve with any FL. So maybe try Daylight FL + HPS. Maybe Blue or BL FL

I have new F40T12D lamps (Philips I believe) and they are not the same bluish-white as older Daylight lamps. They are more of a higher CRI pure white. I think these would work perfectly as plant lights.

Most people here, recommends warm white as a simple solution for plant grow. Usually the red and the orange wavelength, are more important than the blue wavelengths.
