Thanks, Owen. Ireland and many Slavic countries such as Poland, Slovakia, and a few other central European countries have always been predominantly Catholic. The Catholics and Protestants have a long history of disputes in Europe, specifically in Ireland, Germany and Poland. In fact my family who was predominantly Protestant immigrated from Ireland to the US due to the frequent conflicts with the Irish Catholics. I'm sure, based on the crosses and the crown, there is quite a bit of history in your family that involves religious affairs and possible relationships to royal families. I've always been fascinated by the ancestry of my family and my friends. Best of luck finding out more about your ancestors, Owen
