I got my 25w Phillips self ballasted cmh lamp and set up a strand of misalaious candelabra lamps including a few bubbler tubes i bought yesterday.

I’ve always been interested in all kinds of lighting, mainly incandescent and HID, and especially all kinds of sodium lamps (HPS/LPS). I’ll tolerate LED but I’m not a fan of it.
I’m not proud to say that my city has Devolved to LED.

My dad refuses to buy new LED sets.  He actually told me an $85 electric bill is “worth it” for “real” Christmas lights, and not LED junk, which I completely agree with that.

Put up the last 10 sets of Christmas lights outside. (some LED, some incandescent). Fixed a few sets outside that weren't working. Put up a few small trees inside (all LED lights used).

Been busy fixing a bunch of T8 ballasts that were installed incorrectly.  These are programmed start ballasts that replaced rapid start T12.  In order for the programmed start ballasts to heat the filaments/cathodes properly or even at all, the the wires have to be run to the sockets individually and not doubled up.  I am also replacing some of these .41 amp ballasts with .50+ amp ballasts as these are in recessed fixtures and need more light output.  The original T-12 ballasts were .78 amp I believe so decent light output on T12 but with T8 .40 or .41 amp doesn't quite cut it for higher up fixtures.

More fun at the church building fixing some of the improperly installed programmed start ballasts. Had some fun with an EOL Sylvania F32T8 3000K.  It was in one of the instant start ballast driven fixtures, so it didn't die out completely until I put it on an instant start ballast.  In the photos you can see that both ends had the black socks.  It took about 10 min of it running before it lost vacuum.  Both ends were doing the red spiral death dance.  One side started to return from pink to the warm white color too.  Lots of fun   Cursed out 2 newer Philips F32T8 3500k tubes where the weak cathodes broke away when I installed the lamps into the fixture.  Grrrrrrrrr. Been an issue with Philips since the 700 series dating back to the late 90s. Some did this new out of the box, most do it when you remove them after they have run for a short time or long time and install them in a new fixture.  The slight jarring of removing the tube is enough to break off the weak cathodes.
