This morning I got scared by sound of short circuit as incandescent lamp in one of the christmas decoration in living room burned out. I started already checking all the electronics around the house to find out what shorted before I noticed that this lamp that is on timer switch was off. Replaced the lamp with another 15W candle lamp.

I couldn't live there !!  https://www.bloomingtonmn.gov/sites/default/files/52u_exterior_light.pdf
Sounds like you couldn't be plant manager at a retail complex, office building or apartment complex there.
"Except for single and two-family dwellings..."

Today I ran a new string of white C9 LED christmas lights along my front porch, using Q-hangers.  Tomorrow I may do the front gable.  The side and back gables will probably be summer projects.

I found a store with a green 40w tube on display, so I went there. Ended up buying the 40w green tube, a red 40w tube (for free because of damaged pins!), a 250w heat bulb and a 250w hpsv/mh ballast. He also said that he has seen some pink and other colour 40w tubes, but it's in another store which is closed for a while...

I went to check on the local hardware store's stock of fluorescent lamps. Still well stocked and they're extremely cheap now, like €3 for a 36w TL-D. Tempted to keep one in stock for if the lamp in my vintage lab workbench ever dies.

Also checked out the incandescent section (yes, we've had a ban for 10 years now). Bulbs of below 15w are excempt, so i grabbed a 10w e27 for the hell of it, for the pricely sum of €1,25. It produces about as much light as my Kosmos 6''' oil lamp. Interestingly enough the glass is tinted brown ever so slightly.

The off white balance is caused by the SL-18 old school jam jar CFL i screwed into my ceiling. Taking digital pictures in the CFL age was a chore.

Went to the guy (Francis) and bought several LPS fixtures as well as HPS ITT 13. I got Dave D a M400 shaded fixture. I got 2 180w Palomar, 2 90w ea a 90 and 180 watt spare ballast. He said that the code (...) :police: is actually working with them as long as they are showing progress in cleaning and removing metal and other things. I hung out talking with him so long I missed the chance to check on the Temecula RS. Pretty good score today.  :lps: :lps: :hps:

Today I took a 3 hr road trip to get a Westinghouse MRF-400 . I'm currently giving it a good cleaning and lookover . I also dug out my 400w Steber Magnuliter as I have a replacement 400w Sola ballast to go in it .

Replaced the light in my canopy.  When I bought it, I originally opted for the battery powered light.  It worked OK, but I decided that I wanted the wired version instead.  Bought one from the local Leer dealer, who assured me that it was pretty much plug and play.  It mounted where the mounting bracket for the battery light went, using the same screw holes.  The wire ran along the top of the rear opening, tucked under the inner edge of the gasket and some short pieces of split loom.  The wire just had bare pins, which snapped into the back end of a 4-pin plug that also powered the 3rd brake light and plugged into the canopy's fuse box.  Final step was inserting a 5A mini fuse into the empty space in the fuse box.

The light is powered off of the running lights.

While going somewhere, I saw 2 short T5 tubes (probably F4T5 or F6T5) on the ground, but couldn't pick them up because I would be late. When I finally came outside, the tubes were nowhere to be seen :(

WELL , after 3 1/2 years , I FINALLY swapped out the P/C socket in my finned M-1000 with P/C for one with longer wires ! These fixtures are so damned BIG that the wire length of a standard twist lock socket is about 6" too short . I had an extra P/C socket that I had removed from a GE Town & Country posttop that had 2' long leads .

Swapping the socket was a total PITA !!! I had to remove the door , lamp , reflector and the fin . Then , the fin had to be disassembled , the P/C socket swapped , reassemble and reinstall the fin and then reassemble the fixture , all while trying NOT to scratch the paint . I wish I had the new socket BEFORE I initially assembled the fixture during it's restoration !

Purchased two 5000k Metal Halides for my sport car headlights, as well as two possibly cheapo electronic ballasts for them. We will see how these ones work.
I've also purchased a relay harness for them as well, since the one I installed with my previous Metal Halides for this car has failed.
Also decided to purchase two additional GE HALARC 50w Metal Halide lamps for two of my Wallpacks in my garage. It will be even brighter in there.
