Where can I get a 400 Watt CMH lamp? I can't find any place that's helpful, so do they exist?

They do exist but the price is ridiculous. See here:

It might not be the correct photo, but it looks like a CMH lamp to me.

It seems like CMH is kind of new technology, so it seems weird that it would be at such high wattages.

Philips makes an 860w CMH lamp that can operate on probe start 1kw ballasts. I don't think they go any higher though.

Wow! That would be good for movie lighting. For me, 400 Watts is enough.

Is that what you want it for?

Nope. I just want it for my collection, for now, if I can afford it.

The photo is indeed a 400watt CMH, it looks like a GE one, I have one that was kindly given to me by fellow member Kev.

Still pricey, but cheaper.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GE-LIGHTING-CMH400-U-830-R-Ceramic-Metal-Halide-Lamp-ED18-400W-/381162429379?hash=item58bf0d1bc3:g:1CYAAOSw9eVXVv9o
Any other places?
Well, your ballast is electronic and can operate HPS lamps so here: https://www.1000bulbs.com/product/57200/MHS-040093295.html Only $31, and still CMH.
Bingo! Now I just need a daylight color one, but that's a problem for later.

If you mean 6500k, you will have to get a quartz lamp because CMH is available in the highest 4000k.
