These are likely the ones coming soon to the Minneapolis-St Paul area; I've see them all over next door in Wisconsin. I find flat panel LED easier to look at than a typical semi-cutoff HPS. The worst LEDs to look at are the American Electric ATBM that Mn/DOT is using in some places; the cluster of LEDs that use a glass bead lens rather than the LED internal optics glares almost as bad as the shallow glass HPS fixtures they're replacing.

Correct, word has it XCEL will be installing them in MSP in the not too distant future.  Overall I am pleased with the LEDs thus far.  However-  properly aiming these flat panel heads is critical.  too much to one direction and it can be blinding.  Where as with the HPS it wasn't quite as bad, although still bad.  (We don't use globes in the fixtures here, they are all flat panel where I live to cut down on light pollution and keep the neighborhoods happy)

The more you hate the LED movement, the stronger it becomes.
