Enclosed yardblaster refractor « on: May 16, 2016, 05:04:19 PM » Author: Lumex120
I would like to know where I can buy an enclosed yardblaster refractor like what you see on MH yardblasters. I have one that I want to convert to metal halide but don't want to have to use protected lamps. Does anyone know of a place that sells them? All of the ones I find have open bottoms.

That depends...

If you're using a NEMA light with the option of latch-on optics, and you can find a hood that uses a retaining ring to hold the refractor on, you can order a closed bottom refractor from Formed Plastics.  If your light is a Cooper yardblaster, than you can pirate the refractor from a Cooper MH yardblaster, but if you were going to do that, why bother with converting?

That's the problem. I have 2 MV yardblasters with screw on refractors, and I want to install an m57 ballast so that it can run MH lamps. I also don't want to have to use open rated lamps since they are expensive plus it bothers me when a fixture can only take O lamps.
