Considering Walmart used to sell these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-175-Watt-Regent-Mercury-Vapor-Outdoor-Flood-Light-/172168840929?hash=item28161006e1:g:siQAAOSwubRXEUPr for $20.00, I don't recall getting the memo where the value INCREASED as it was used.  Let's imagine for 2 seconds that I was Frank Fitz, I would offer $2.50 for this garbage, and might would get $10.00 out of it.  I'm willing to bet that a 1984 Regent 175W fixture is loud as hell.  My 1996 Yardblaster is in serious need of re-varnishing.

the seller's name "land-of-simple-treasures" says it all.  they probably think its from the 1950s the way they got it priced.  see this kind of thing in the kerosene lantern collecting world all the time.  they get some weathered piece of Chinese crap from the last 20 years and think its old and worth what some of the old ones from the 1920s and 30s are worth.

I can't believe this item actually sold.  Someone was pretty dumb!  It'd be different if a new Photocell, and bulb had been included, but paying $50.00 for a fixture worth $9.99 is ludicrous.

Think that's bad? That's more than a good quality new one is worth! Check out "more chances to get what you want", there are several more lights selling like this. Sad.
