I want to build some small scale version of the Ccfl consulite fixture that tony has. I saw some small transformers like this for 3.5kv. Would this be enough to run four of the 1/8"Dia, ~24" long tubes in series? I don't know the operating specs of the tubes since the power supply I used has since gone out. I was looking for some small, true "neon" type tubes that were white but no luck.

T1/T0.8 CCFLs like in LCD monitors are normally between 4..8mA and 600..800V. This would strike atleast 2 or 3 in series, but i think will overdrive them. Use one of the Electronic inverters made for LCD's instead

I would grab two of these or similar. Each will drive two CCFLs.

There are replacement CCFL driver boards for 1 / 2 / 4 CCFLs for repairing LCD screens
