I got a somewhat better "webcam class" camera, that does decent resolution in both geometry and color range (so detail visible in video under daylight, not just Mpixels), and got a chance to capture faces fairly well, at least under daylight. Will still have to experiment with IR though

With the lighting, i guess i'd get both LEDs and try...
