Great find !
About 1.5 years back i had a Matsushite compressor fail after 21 years in use (PTC starter shorted and starting coil burned out), in a fridge made in 1993. I had no tools for changing it myself (and those are expensive) so we got a guy to do the actual work, but i still had to get the compressor myself. I had to call warehouses through the entire country untill i found a suiteble compressor NOS, apparently the R12 compressors are banned here now....
This is a great fridge that won't ever be made again (the factory closed more than a decade ago). I had to convince parents to repair it and not buy into the "energy efficiency upgrade" fridge trade in deals offered all the time

I have a old sears mini fridge bought from early 90s as well. Still got good old R12 in it too.
Only way now days to get R12 for my truck is to recover R12 from old refridgerators .

No LED gadgets, spins too slowly. Gotta love preheat and MV. let the lights keep my meter spinning.

thanks guys. I also have a Goldstar (LG) mini fridge that has the Matsushita compressor. this one is from 1987 and runs good, but the door seal is ruined. not sure where to get one. maybe I could find a universal one. ill have to get pics of that but its at my grandparents house. ill be over there later this weekend and I can get some. I only have access to dialup over there so I would just post them in my gallery and then post them here in this thread come next week when im back home where I am now

Nice! I love older refrigerators and freezers.
My apartment has a Wood's compact kitchen from the 1970s or 80s. It's a fridge, freezer, stove, and sink rolled into one unit, and it looks awesome. As long a there's interest, I should clean it up and post pics.

Nice fridge. I too enjoy seeing vintage refrigeration stuff. This one reminds me of my elementary school days. There was one just like it in the nurses office where they kept medications that had to be refrigerated and ice bags in the freezer.
