I've noticed that while the Ce:YAG phosphors of white LEDs usually glow yellow under my 405nM violet laser, in some LED lamps, the phosphors glow orange or green.
Why this is happens? They all have the same Ce:YAG phosphor.

Many of LED§s, mainly those with higher CRI, actually use two or even more component phosphor (so not only the Ce dopant).
The motivation is to "fill" the spectrum in a better way than just a single orange "bump"...
The result is then the different color when illuminated by a violet (or near-UV) light.
