It had a SIM lock, where it would only accept at&t SIM cards.  That has been removed, so it can take any compatible SIM card.

Welp, due to money reasons I actually had to downgrade from my HTC One M8 to a Samsung Galaxy Ace Style.  No big deal though, at least I can call, text and then some.  At least I still have my M8 though for pictures and...well really anything but things that need a service plan. :P

(Sorry for the horrible photo, took it on another phone, only thing I have that I can use to take a pic easily :/)

I recently changed phones due to the other one getting broken.  now I have a ZTE Allstar LTE.  still with Straight Talk (tracfone) however.
5MP camera, LED flash.  good enough for me. uses the same chipset that my previous phone did, a snapdragon 410 with an adreno 306 GPU.

That's too bad about not being able to use your HTC One.  My opinion of HTC used to not be very good, after my former roommate's experience, but they've improved over the years.  My nephew has a talent for destroying phones.  His first victim was an iPhone 3GS, and he has since destroyed various supposedly rugged smart phones, like the Samsung Rugby Pro.  The HTC One M8 held up for over a year without the benefit of an OtterBox/LifeProof or any other case for that matter.  It's eventual downfall was a broken micro USB contact, leaving it unable to be charged.  The replacement, a rugged Kyocera made it about 4 months before being destroyed.

I've seen it happen many times.  The little plastic tab inside that holds the contacts breaks off.  Phone = brick

The battery of my phone, became weak in the recent time, to the point that I've charging it every 2-3 days.

I seen the pic of it from before.  I used to have a few years ago a version of that, but it was black.  how old is that one?  3 or 4 years?  if so, you got a good run out of that battery!

I think it is more than 10 years old (Samsung SGH-E250). 2nd generation. There are no replacement batteries for it in Israel.

Yeah HTC seems to make pretty solid One's, they hold up better then a lot of better smartphones from what I've seen.  I've almost never used this one without an OtterBox though, went about 3 months maybe in total of using a cheap $5 Dot View case, which was fun but I then somehow got a dent on the bottom on the phone above the USB port and (probably because it is a cheap knockoff case) 2 horribly scratched spots on the screen, but only noticeable when the screen gets dirty.  My Mom had an HTC Evo 4G (The original) and I accidentally dropped it in a store once, and it was in a hard plastic case, it ruptured the LCD and now there is a permanent dead spot right around where the space bar is if you had the keyboard up.  Glass was fine, but the LCD was not, still works though.
