Powergroove T8s? « on: September 20, 2014, 01:06:36 AM » Author: BlueHalide
I was recently at a tanning salon (not to tan myself) and noticed they had a case of 72" T8 lamps that had the typical powergroove pattern of a T12. First time ever seeing these. They were stamped "Sunergy Facial Swirl 75w 10,000 hour. First, I know tanning bed lamps have always been outside the norm compared to commercial lamp standards such as power rating. But I have yet to see a 6 foot T8 of 75w in "powergroove". Now if they only made that same lamp but in a 4100K for commercial use...

If memory serves they were comparable to a powergroove in shape (the "groove" wasn't helical down the length of the lamp like a "twist"). About 12" of both ends were un-grooved. Also unlike most T8's over 4' these were standard med bi-pin, not single pin (slimline) or RDC med bi-pin (HO plunger). I actually cannot find any ballast online that drives an F72T8 75w. Pretty bizarre, but cool
