had noticed ge style end banding on a few of these.
i fixed up a fixture for the garage the same way and lit it to test.
these are 2x 2"fixtures with the lamps out the edges and notched on the broad side for 2 more lamps.
inside is a 4 lamp is ballast wired 2x drive and the lamps in series on each side.
anyway the fresh tubes were twice as bright as the ones that had been in use 3 years!
planned to relamp everything when i had time.
well a few started failing.long story short it took 3 years to beat these tubes to death.
doubled the brightness of my work area!

Overdriving normal output lamps is an inexpensive way to get high output but should only be done with instant-start electronic ballasts.

btw the phillips tl950 shift to the pinkish side as they age.
these are older tubes pre alto crap.
relamped with a mix of those and pre ecologic sylvania 950.
we will see which holds up best.
