Does anyone think this site needs a mobile app for us lighting enthusiasts? It seems like an app would be more convenient. Just a thought.

There is a mobile version of this site, which in my experience (on my iPod Touch) works pretty well.

I don't know if it is just my phone or not but on Android the thumbnail rows don't slide when you try to slide them.  But you can see all of them at one time when you zoom out, but it makes the thumbnails and text smaller making it harder to see for some people.  Thankfully I don't have that issue.

Tapatalk is an app already out there for forums and thia could be one of those added there, but the mobile site does work well (I am typing this right now on it) and I don't know if it costs anything or not to have.

I had the same issues as described by mrboojay on my iPod Touch second generation with iOS 4.1. However, my new fifth generation iPod running the latest iOS version works quite well. I mainly use it to read as I don't particularly like typing on a small keyboard. I mostly save my replies for when I am at my computer.

My iPod works just fine with the mobile site as well.  It is a 4th Gen. running iOS 6.1.3(?).

Also to clear up a couple things in my first post as it may have been confusing.  When I said, "I don't have that issue," I was talking about seeing small text.  And about wether or not it costs money I was talking about having this hosted on Tapatalk.

Wouldn't be just better to use a web browser capable of moving across a page larger than the display?

No it can pan on large web pages but the 5 picture big highlighting things like latest uploads or comments don't scroll like they are supposed to because they are larger than the screen.  But if I zoom out it is fine (it all fits on the screen).  By the way the mobile site does not support zooming in even after you zoom out.

How does one post pictures from an iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1.? to the forum? Whenever I try, it says I exceeded the file size.

Are you uploading them the way you would on a computer?  If you are theb make sure your pics are under 4MB in size as that is the file size limit.  There may still be a visual size limit (in pixels) but it is not listed.

There are 4 ways to fix this:
1. Download an image editor app that resizes them.
2. Resize it on a PC using an image editor.
3. Crop them via iOS's built in editor in the Photo app.
4. Take smaller photos.

Sorry for the double post but do you mean the forums and not the gallery?  In that case everything applies except the file size is 512KB per pic, and you have to click on the "Choose File" button underneath the text box of the new post you are typing.  Then click (more attachments) to add another one.

My only problems with the mobile site is when I upload a pic and it gets rotated 90° counter clock automatically or when my comments double post.

The double posts sometimes happen to me even on a PC, I guess it is more of a connection problem (it lets you send the "push button" twice before it block it). Therefore I try to always check (mainly if the resonse becomes slower or somehow erratic), if the post is there just once and if not, just manually delete the excessive ones (as originator of the post you have the rights to delete it)...

Yep, if you click the OK button more than once before the page goes black upon refreshing, it will post the comment more than once. I tested it once by clicking as fast as I could - it posted the comment about 10 times.
