As some of you know.  my favorite fixture is my 12 watt dual F6T5 fixture.  I want to do a Christmas special featuring it.  I found a red lamp on line  however i really need a green lamp,  if anybody knows where or can help me accquire a greeen F6t5 please send me in the right direction.

i wrap T8's with color plastic (what is used to wrap bookws etc), works wonderful. I hope T5 is not much hotter running than T8

T5 4-13W, don't burns hotter than T12/T8. This is correct only for the long T5 HE/HO.

My thoughts too, the surface brightness steps up significantly with each reduction in tube diameter suggesting a similar increase in surface temperature. Normally it's the ends you have to worry about especially with T5s if thinking about applying sleeving or any sort of coating :)

I've always wanted to find coloured T5s, maybe one day!

My experience so far :

T12 - can be left for long time without bad effects

T8 - hardens and cracks in the ends after many hours of use

TC-S (PL) 9W (wrapped 2 tubes together in 1 main sleeve) melts away in front of me

Well if you are willing to part with it,  i would like to buy it.    I found some red ones online, just havent been able to locate a green..
