I thought this would be cool, you can post what stores are around you or have been to with a variety of lighting being used in the store.

There is a Meijer that we go to that has a good variety.  For the outside they have MHs(?) in the parking lot as well as some on certain points on the trim of the overhang above the doors for decorative lighting, some HVs(?) in recessed cans to light the overhang going into the store, some neon around the trim of the overhang, fluorescent tubes along the edge of the store {likly T8s) and then what looks like some MVs to light the room between the outside and the inside.  For the inside they T8 hanging fixtures for the main lighting in the store, some long PLs for the clothes department, MH for flood lights at certain spots in the store, some of what look to be T12 HO fixtures for the cold areas, U-Bend T8/12 for the bread area and then it looks like they may have some T8 (or T12s, it was hard to tell) battery backup fixtures attached to the ceiling.  They look like shop lights with covers over the tubes (which may keep the heat in so they are brighter?) and nothing to show that they are battery backup, though they could be from the old lighting they used to have.

We have three chain lighting stores in Israel: Ace, Home Center and Machsanei Teura (Lighting storages).
Lamps: All that they are selling, are: LED, T5, T8, halogen, CFL, clear incandescent up to 60W, and PLs.
Fixtures: Mainly CFL and LED, but also halogen.
Brand of lamp: Except for Osram, and the South African brand Eurolux, all of the lamps sold in these chain shops, are generics (Hyundai lighting and electric, Electra Lighting, Luxten, Orsol, Flashlight, Sparkle Lighting, Zeev Shimoni, Home Electric, Match, A.M.A.L, etc...).
Private electricity parts shops, sells only generic lamps, and rarely Osram lamps (Mainly CFLs, but also slightly LEDs).
SBMV lamps aren't sold anymore in these chain shops. But I recently seen MH lamps of sale in several of them.
Wholesale shops: Sells various of discharge lamps and fixtures. I don't know exactly what are the brands that sold there (I know that Hasmal Yashir (Direct Electric) wholesale, sells mainly Eurolux but also Osram), as they are closed in 17:00 usually, so I haven't a chance to get inside.

So MOST of the shops in Israel, uses 2x54W T5 HO (2xF54T5 HO) HF battens, either daylight or coolwhite. Preheat magnetic ballasts and 36W T8s, getting rarer these days in shops in Israel.
Many shops uses highbays and lowbays with either american probe or pulse start MH lamps or european MH lamps. However I've seen many highbays with high wattage CFLs (Several of them had two seperate tubes and two seperate electronic ballasts in the same lamp, so some CFLs looked as "Half lighted") that took over the MH lamps.
Also, LED lighting are getting more and more popular in shop lighting in Israel.
Mercury lamps getting rarer in Israel, and are mostly replaced by 45W CFLs (The most common wattage of CFLs for retrofitting MV in Israel) instead of penning start or internal glow starter HPS retrofit lamps.
