I went to a local hardware store today (the one that
this GE Compax and
these 100W slimlites came from). I was looking at some products that were made in China, and I commented about it to a worker who was standing there. The worker said that not much was made in the U.S.A. except for Channellock and Klein tools. I said that Sylvania incandescent bulbs are made in St. Marys, PA, and he said incandescent bulbs haven't been made for a year and all the machinery has been detooled. I said that Sylvania was making halogens at their plants, and he said that "Halogens aren't incandescents, they are a type of H.I.D." I said halogens ARE incandescent, and he replied with "I've been in this business for 30 years; I'm not gonna argue" and he walked away.
I don't usually argue with people unless I know I'm right, and I am sure halogens are incandescent!
