The three powerhouses here in America. 

I will go with Sylvania because some of their bulbs are still made in the US. I have better luck with their fluorescent tubes than with Philips or GE.

Oh cool!  I am also a big Sylvania fan but I had no idea they were the only ones made in America still that's awesome!  I lit my house with probably 50-75 60watt incandescent Sylvanias when I remodeled and it was not a rebellion against cfl I just love the simplicity of them and the nice light and am willing to pay the extra energy and heat.  They are standard frosted ones. I also lit the garage with 28 48" 40watt NO T12 10,000K Sylvania daylight tubes on standard oldschool magnetic ballasts.  Needless to say the power company loves me. LMAO..  I also relamped my Electripak HPS wall pack with a Sylvania Lumalux bulb. I simply love the name and the design style of Sylvania bulbs.  Oh I almost forgot, when I was a saltwater fish keeper with my father back in the 90's we ran Osram Bulbs and I think the Osram Sylvania combo is what stuck them in my mind as a favorite! :-)

I can only find Sylvanias at Lowes Home Improvement stores unfortunately and got them all there :-/. Except for my Lumalux HPS bulb that I got from a freind of the family whom works at an electrical supply store as Lowes doesn't stock Lumalux or 35 watt bulbs, just regular Sylvanias HPS and 70 watts and above.

My pick - Sylvania. Consistant quality, and it's a company still supports local jobs.

The challange here in Oz: Sylvania is expensive and the range seems limited.

Philips, although I`ll give anything a try now its all China stuff.

Our MV's are still rolling out, if only in smaller wattages. Still tons and tons of fluorescents but their days are numbered.

GE are getting a bit big for their boots (they are taking over everything!) and have sold out (some of) their manufacturing to China, Philips tubes go mercury starved although their incandescents are OK.

Sylvania because I have never had a problem with running their 34 Watt t12 tubes. Or any of their other tubes for that manner. I also like Westinghouse,  but sadly I have yet to see any new bulbs made by them.

I also prefer Sylvania. Many of their bulbs are still made in the U.S.A. and the quality is good. GE always used to be my favorite, but quality dropped when they closed most of their U.S.A. incandescent plants. But GE fluorescent tubes still seem good, and I have had good experiences with their halogens from Hungary.

Phillips is my favorite  for F32T8,F40TT12 and their LED and cfls

Sylvania is my favorite for HID and fluorescent ballasts

GE for HO and slimline lamps and dimmable cfls
