Was at one of the church buildings I maintain changing out another Philips T700 series F40T8 when it exploded in my hand while trying to get it out of the fixture. (Was not using very much pressure at all)  Sliced my thumb and index finger up in 3 places when the glass shattered/blew out   I've had it with the T700 series and will be changing out the remaining tubes in this 2 year old building over the next 2 weeks as time permits.  Only this time using my gloves and a pair of safety glasses, just in case. 

I had a 110W HO 8ft break in half in my hnd for no reason. I was holding it in the center, half of it unexpectedly just broke off right next to my hand and fell down

And i seen a PL 18W explode in the face to the electrician who was replacing it. He held it from the direction that he pushed the 2 U's together, and the lamp just broke completely not just the bridge between the 2 U's
