F40T12/CWX Salina, KS Philips-Westinghouse, is this the real deal? « on: September 08, 2011, 07:10:41 PM » Author: Luminaire
I picked up a pair of Philips made Westinghouse branded F40T12/CWX from a local hardware store.
It is January 2010 and appears to be from Salina KS Philips factory. Is this the real deal or is it triphosphor?

I know that Ace Hardware sells private labeled Universal DLX, but its not the cool white deluxe phosphor. It's GE SP41 triphosphor.

Well the ACE tube is somewhat similar to the SP-41 but the ACE DLX, if it is a SP41 has a better CRI than just cool white. So I got out the 2 cheapo 40 watt strip lights that I have. 2 of the Phillips made Westys and a SPX-41 and the DLX. The 2 GE's are very similar and the Phillips made bulb tends to have a slightly pinker look The SPX-41 is a tad closer to the color of the Phillips made bulbs.

The GE one is SP41. Someone posted a picture of it and I checked GE catalog.  It's the same phosphor that's used in the basic T8.

I corrected the post and it just re posted it..... :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
..... but in corrected form. I would take a picture of the 2 fixtures, but I expect my inexpensive camera wouldn't capture the event.
