Havells F32T8/741 « on: July 15, 2011, 09:23:03 PM » Author: Powell
Cost $5.00 for 2. Made in China. Date code is 01713. I tested one first in my ancient preheat and the bulb kept making the starter restart. I never had that problem on the ancient Sylvania, GE or even the 30 watt T8 watt saver Phillips. They did start OK on the fixture for the T8 lamps. This POS Lamps of America fixture starts them as if they were rapid start !

I guess I should give them the torture test and do 24/7 with them.

Your "ancient preheat" is designed for F32T8 or F40T12?
Rememeber, then F32T8 is way different spec (operating current, arc voltage, ignition and reignition voltage requirement) lamp then F40T8, so I would not be suprised, then  it simply does not work...

The ancient.... around 1950 of course had to be for 40 and maybe 30 watt preheat. It has so far until then lit EVERY 32 watt T8 with no complaint, including a T8 30 watt    watt saver.  It has very few hours as I had to take the unit apart to clean it. It has the original GE daylight bulbs.

I will run the Havells a few hours in a SS fixture and try again.

The ballast in this unit is HUGE !
