MV in 2025!!!

Recently, I have found about that this alpha 8 which exists in London is the last one left in the whole entire UK. Anyone found other atlas alpha 8s or is it just this one left? https://maps.app.goo.gl/HjdtcxDrUtaiskQw6?g_st=ac

Usually I collect bulbs (Mostly LED) and some HID ones. I also own a couple of streetlights, but most are made in Poland.
However, I mostly prefer SOX bulbs. LED bulbs in their efficacy will never beat SOX bulbs, in my opinion.

IIRC Mike Barford's website has a couple of other atlas alpha 8 locations in his survivors section. I'll try and find them.

The classic lights of Canberra are few and far between, this just means that I get know each one better!

I looked through his surviver sections and the only atlas alpha 8 which he had was in London.
Well at least the the atlas alpha 3 from the 60s was common

Yup, up to the areas beginning with S. Unfortunately the only other alpha 8 that I found was removed around 2011. I did find a bunch of beta 3s though (one of my all time favorite lanterns).

Oh Yeah, I remember looking at the Alfreton Road, I just couldn't find it although I looked through the whole road. I found the same lantern but just on a different website. Same they replaced it, they could of retrofit it or just leave it

I think that the spalling of the column was the reason.

Ah What a shame...Anyone get to save it or was it dumped away...?
Also, did you find any London examples, except the one which still stands?

I BELIEVE it was scraped. No, I didn't find any other examples in london, on the installations section of lightgb.myfreeola.com/lights there are a number of now removed examples from london. (About halfway down the page) http://www.lightgb.myfreeola.com/lights/england/london/westminster/westminster.htm

That was helpful, the atlas alpha 8 lanterns I think we're given to several collectors, but the one on Constitution Road hasn't been removed for some reason Maybe it's the time to save the last one before the Westminster Contractors will throw it away, even though it already has the canopy door open at the top, causing risk for it to fall down or either get removed.
