This is simply too late the unban, after the Chinese ruined all of the American incandescent lamp business.

(Being aware of myself being a strait white male) I feel that human rights and equality are far more important than some outdated lightbulb. I personally love to be around incandescent but it has had a good run and has well and truly been phased out by the general public.

Is there any HPS plants left in the US?, I wonder what big Don really thinks of LED street lighting 🤔and/or he prefers HPS?

There is high chance he will stop any of those eventual bans, but I don't think it will change the outcome in any way: The market has already quite strong momentum towards the LEDs and there is not that much incentive to change the course, when the LED fixtures cost is not that far off from the HPS ones, but the light quality is, from a normal mortal perspective, way better even for the worst LEDs. And so is the overall system efficacy (= lower power consumption for the same formal performance criteria).

I doubt LED even saving energy than polluting the environment. If you have noticed, the climate changes began as soon as all of the regular lamps has been banned and the LED became popular.

Modern led is getting extremely efficient. Take currents new medium streetlight for example, the ernm, it can get about 172lpw. The early 2010s leotek ecobra has only about 100lpw. Led is ever evolving and getting better and better for many applications as time goes on. Hid on the other hand never did. The diode boards are only made of some plastic and metal, the drivers are non toxic. Climate change and environmental destruction has long been a problem, and the fact that leds came along at that time has nothing to do with it.

While I love my incandescents & will continue to use(mainly 40w) them - even if that means getting 40w appliance bulbs - or some other random 40w.

I would rather have no incandescents at all than that raciest homophobic woman-hating bigot in office.
I don't give a f about so-called "climate change".
I certainly would not be proud to say I live in the DSA anymore, and almost don't want to be around to see what a cesspool of hate its gonna become in the upcoming years.

It sure was worth putting my and the rights of so many others in jeopardy just so we can make crappy inefficient light bulbs again.

Nobody’s rights are in jeopardy. Where does this information even come from?

Abortion for example, I believe that everyone should have the right to choose about something like that.

All of this is just a pipe dream ! They can unban the incandescent all they want . No one bought them here long before the bans anyways . All of the incandescents at my local stores were completely coated in dust .

Correct, remember this isn't a forum for general political discussions, so please stick to matters related to lighting if you don't wish to see this thread locked.

I'll reiterate that very little has actually changed at this point.  The executive order is a first step of many that would be required to overturn a ban.  Personally I don't expect it to happen.  The market for traditional lamps grows smaller every year.  There's little money to be made on incandescent now that we have cheap LEDs.  Public sentiment towards LED lighting is positive over all.  Whether you think it's necessary to reduce energy usage to slow climate change or conserve natural resources, there's not going to be much appetite for lamps that have upwards of 10x the power consumption.

Whether you support Trump or not it'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.  Maybe someday the 1600+ lumen 100W incandescent lamp will be back on the shelves, but my prediction is it's gone for good.
