I have spent over $100 on my collection which my collection is very small consisting of 7 HID fixtures and 5 florescent fixtures (I got all of the fluorescent fixtures for free)

Labor? Alot. Climbing radio abandoned radio towers, abandoned buildings, crawling down rail road ditches, junkyards. Etc. Money, Also alot.

Most of my collection was sourced from people just randomly giving me lamps over the years, but in recent times i have spent a bit of money on equipment and HID lamps, but most of it i still get as giveaways from others who want to place their lamps somewhere other then the trash and often times a few trash finds themselves.

I have spent way too much on my collection during the past many years. But!! I say that with no regret because I always managed to live and spend (approximately!) within my means. Further, I would say that no less than 85 percent of what I spent my money for were for lamps, fixtures and related gear that never since appeared for sale again. And the $$$ eventually replaced itself but the vast number of opportunities to buy interesting things for my collection has not.

I have no idea how much as its spread out in bits & pieces over many years... ...though I know I could say: "way too much" it also 'costs' me allot of space in the house .lol.

Like several others, I have spent far too much money on this hobby, especially in the last couple of years. I do not regret it however as I am going through a bad time at the moment and it acts as a kind of therapy to some extent. Trading lamps is the best though as it is cheaper and two people benefit at the same time!
