I have recently discovered that the company known as “Filamento” has apparently designed a number of high bay luminaires specifically designed for replaceable LED lamps.
Another nice thing about the company is that they have designed their LED retrofit lamps to be used on pretty much any type of HID ballast regardless of whether it is CWA, HX, or simple choke or without a ballast at all. Additionally, the LED retrofit lamps that they have designed also include a special circuit inside them to suppress the ignitor pulses from pulse start metal halide ballasts or high pressure sodium ballasts meaning that they can pretty much function as a drop in retrofit lamp without any fixture circuit modifications whatsoever.
Here is information about Filamento’s socketed HID replacement LED fixtures:

Here is the information about the universal ballast compatibility with Filamento’s LED retrofit lamps:
https://www.filamento.com/applications/ballast-compatibility/Due to the universal ballast compatibility technology that these LED retrofit lamps have, they can help preserve HID luminaires without the need to scrap them. It would be nice if they can also use this same LED retrofit lamp technology to design horizontal burning LED retrofit lamps that can be specifically retrofitted into cobrahead street lights, shoebox luminaires, or wall packs to help preserve the look of a city’s street lighting system and preserve the look of other types of traditional luminaire designs.
In my opinion, I think that cities look better when they use retrofitted cobrahead street lights instead of new integrated LED street lights.
