Since I'm beginning to make YouTube videos on my main channel, soon I will begin reviving a dead YouTube channel of mine again, posting lighting related videos there. On that channel, the last YouTube video I created was 11 years ago. I've done so much between now and back then with regards to lighting. First, I'll need to get my act together... but in the mean time, why not subscribe to it? Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/@nothingbutlighting/videos. I'll also need to work on a profile picture for it... something unique. As I get my act together, I'll think of something. Right now I'm far, far down in terms of life, but if things work out in 2025, there will be significant changes. |

| Thanks man. lol... a lot has changed between now and back then. Even though the amount of views I got per video weren't that good, each video has more
views than I thought they would, especially my first video. Looking back now, I keep laughing at my accent.
Other than my odd accent, I'm proud of those videos, even though they were lame. It shows me that there are more lighting enthusiasts out there, which
further influences me to revive that channel.

| OMG I remember years ago when I was little and my lighting hobby only extended farthest as viewing YouTube videos on it, I watched "Rapid start fluorescent fixtures"!! All the memory came back when I saw the thumbnail!

| Yeah that's an old school video. First upload ever... those were some good times. I have a few private videos on that channel that never made it
to YouTube... could get some additional attention from lighting enthusiasts. Those unfortunately occurred during very, very bad times, which is
why I've been so hesitant to upload them. I may change my mind and switch those videos over to "public." There were some interesting lighting found
in those videos.

Cool that you're gonna start doing vid's again @suzukir122 ! When I originally started my 1st YouTube channel, the plan was to make it for Christmas lights. It ended up being a combination of fluorescent & Christmas ... and has over time evolved to be mostly weather/storms (though I still occasionally throw a fluorescent EOL vid out there.) Have some more Christmas-lights vid's I'd love to do (and had planned to years ago), but the time it takes to do it is just too much. .lol. My 2nd channel was geared towards various local events & has remained what I started it for over the years. Took a few years off starting in 2020 with the Covid mess. Then revived it this year & even went back & posted a couple vid's from '22 & '23 that'd been sitting unedited on the computer. Though with that one 2024 will likely be the last year for it. |

@xmaslightguy, yeah that channel has more attention than I thought it would, so I have got to revive it. I've been a lighting enthusiast since I was three years old, so I've got to continue showing off that passion of mine. I've got a few unlisted videos of lighting that everyone may want to check out, but originally refused to post those videos publicly since they were during a very rough time in my life. My main channel is set to be my epic channel regarding cars and motorcycles, but my second channel will be strictly lighting related, as I hoped for back then when I was still a kid. I also like that channel name that I created... "Nothingbutlighting..." that has a nice ring to it. "Suzukir123," however, sounds kinda bland and boring.

@suzukir122: Don't know what age it started, just as far as I know I've always liked lights.. Even as a little kid I liked fluorescents, and was fascinated by stuff like when one would go EOL Same for Christmas lights, even as a kid I loved them. Always wanted to 'help' my dad when it was time to get out the lights & decorate. And I always wanted to walk through the 'lights aisle' (and Christmas when in season) whenever my parents went to a store. Yeah, sometimes you just have to hold off on things during those rough periods in life. In a way I kinda wish I'd done 3 separate YouTube's instead of just 2 so I coulda split weather & lights into their own things. (not gonna change anything now though. .lol. ) Actually working on a weather vid as we speak. (nothing special, probably boring infact, just a little thing on 1st snow of the season)

@xmaslightguy, you've just reminded me -- I do have a third channel. I've even posted some lighting related unlisted videos on there not too long ago. That channel is dead, but I might want to revive that one as well... maybe. My third channel, "Soundbrodudeman," was specifically for ASMR sounds... certainly not even close to the ASMR weird stuff I've seen on YouTube, but mainly background noises like fans, eerie music, distant engine sounds, etc. So far I've shut down that idea and haven't posted anything publicly on that channel, but I may change my mind. When I begin new uploads on my Nothingbutlighting channel, I'll be showing other lighting as well, instead of just Fluorescent. I have not yet revealed my eight magnetic Metal Halide Wallpacks in my garage on that channel, so I've got to change that. lol At some point in time I also plan on making a motovlog explaining how I became a lighting enthusiast, on my Nothingbutlighting channel. I think that should be fun. That motovlog would be more about my 3 year old days, when my lighting enthusiast journey began. lol

@suzukir122: On that 3rd channel of yours, with a name like that you could allot of things.. like if you're into music, or stereo equipment those would work well too! And nice you'll be doing more than just fluorescent on Nothingbutlighting. Those MH fixtures should get a startup vid! (that's something I at one time I'd planned to do with my SOX fixture but never did) The one on how became a lighting enthusiast should be interesting. I finished the one vid I was working on. My next one will be from the snowstorm we had last week (another that most will probably find boring.) That one's gonna take awhile to do ... its the 'going through/put together/editing/etc' phase of videos that's the truly time-consuming part. Next one after that will be a fall leaves one (the parts for which were recorded a couple weeks ago) I have one Christmas lights vid I'd like to do before the end of the year, but don't know if I'll have time. Anything like that There is the setup & then recording part which takes some time(but is the easy part)... Then ofcourse the video editing which is as mentioned time-consuming... Then since it requires "talking" there's setting up the computers to 'talk'/modify/record it... then there's editing the audio to like up right with the video. Adding speech audio significantly increases time required to produce a vid! Probably atleast doubling it. All told, a vid (with their max limit of 15 minutes) takes multiple hours of work to do.

Yeah I've edited a few videos recently. It was definitely time consuming, but it was very fun! I enjoy editing videos. My editing skills have improved between now and back when I made my Nothingbutlighting channel, plus there are much more video editing software options out there than there was back then, thankfully. lol... I don't even remember the software I used back then.  |
