On our side of the border we're so used to seeing, buying and using US-made products that we hardly give it a second thought.

But what about the opposite? For a very long time I've wondered how the average American lighting enthusiast views lamps and fixtures made in Canada. Are they considered foreign? Strictly speaking they are but they're not from "overseas" either. Do you guys rather think of them as special, perhaps rarer versions of the usual US-made products? Then there are the Canadian exclusives, what about those?

On a related note, did you guys notice any difference in quality between products from the two countries?

I'm speaking on my opinion and fluorescent lamps but it seems Canadian General Electric fluorescent lamps and such are pretty uncommon down here...

I've never seen one in person-

I've never thought much about Canadian-made stuff either. It's sold here, so it's part of the US market. Now the Canadian exclusives, yeah, definitely. You rarely find them here, and they look pretty foreign to me lol. Everything looks so familiar but it's different at the same time. But they aren't as common here, aside from Sylvania selling Canadian-made T12s here in the US from the 1990s all the way till that plant's closure. So I do think that Canadian-made things are a bit more collectible than the US-made stuff depending on what it is.

To me, Canadian-made quality is high, just like the US-made stuff from what I've seen. I don't think I've seen a bad Canadian-made thing before, or heard of one.

From pretty much the opposite side of the world, Canadian lights are of great build quality (LED Roadway Lighting NXT series and the Satellite series)

Dollar Tree and 99 Cent Only stores in California used to occasionally sell Canadian market bulbs. I got Canadian A&P bulbs from Dollar Tree in Salinas made by Sylvania in Drummondville, Quebec around 2001 or so.

  I have gotten few Canada market CFLs from HEB that sold the
 Cheap globe brand for Canadian market.  And got some globe
 Fluorescent from 99 cent only store in Texas  apart from Common T12 Drummondville stuff.   Sadly right to end they tend
 To be junk with cotton swabs on the T12s.  I did cane across a GE made thorn from a canada made cloths dryer.  Sadly I used it up and threw it away.  This before internet came out 

I like Canadian lamps...just found a nice haul of HID.

From searching marketplace in Canada there's streetlights there that weren't available here. I'd like to get a Power Lite as they seem to pop up often in Canada vs almost never in the US. I would also like to get a old Canadian HID lamp mostly cause I find the sleeves to be quite detailed and neat.
