The typical bus these days usually has 6-8 lights depending on the model. The Thomas Saf-T-Linr C2s tend to vary a bit. Most buses have 3 sets of two at the front, middle, and back. But the C2s from what I have seen have 3 sets of two and one or two extra ones: The first set is offset to one side (right) by the front AC, the middle and back are normal. And then there is one of the driver's seat, and sometimes another one over the stairs-

We don't have the yellow school buses here in the UK, which is always I found a cool concept of the USA  :)

There are dedicated schoolbuses though but none with the yellow paintwork or the Freightliner make

Here we have regular route busses on school runs. For excersions as we call them (field trips), we either use regular route busses on charter or (more recently) use dedicated charter busses from a town nearby.

Yeah here they used the school busses for local field trips.

But for out of the county trips, they used the ones from the local charter company, which uses Prevost motor coaches.

In my district school buses are typically used for school hour field trips within the county. Activity buses are used for sporting events, and out of county field trips. And out of state trips require chartered buses-

I don’t think I’ve ever been on an activity bus. And an out of state field trip, that’s something I never got to go on sadly.

I remember a few trips where we’d go to a local restaurant, such as Pizza Hut once, or one time we got to go to McDonalds for Christmas to paint the windows bd eat lunch, we’d ride in a personal vehicle. Usually the front office staff is clerk’s. Once I got to go to the county spelling bee, and we rode in the suv of the school’s principal.

The office clerk’s had the coolest car we rode in, a vintage 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis, in silver with grey leather interior, in mint condition! 😄

I'm a fan of most busses found in Australia, the custom denning element 2 would be my favourite modern bus but the leyland panther psu3 with an Athol hedges body would be my all time favourite.
The freightliner fs-65 is cool too. :)

We have quite a few electric Custom Denning running the local bus line to replace some of the old Scanias, they ride a lot smoother, the Scanias are so old every time it shifts I get kicked in the back hard. They are built right here in St. Marys, and there are definitely a few around, at least a lot more than other suburbs. Seems like one of the route is a trial route of the Elements as I've been on them as early as 2021.

@dchen4- Up until about July of this year we still had our Renault pr100.2 mk2s from 1993 still on regular routes! Now they were something to ride on. ACTION are currently also in the process of replacing our CNG Scania L94UBs with a mixture of youtongs and Scania K320ubs (BusTech VST bodied) . Unfortunately we only got 4 Custom denning element 2s here early this year. Read about some of this on Actbus.net
