Anyone know anything about the EMPCO LITE model 100 barricade flasher? I can't find videos of it operating or anything. I'd like to press one into service at my work but I'd like to know how they perform before spending 40 bucks on one

The 100 is an older model. Discontinued for a couple decades now. The 400 replaced it with the newer neck design that eliminates the need for a rubber ring around the neck. They were/are both available with different circuitry like flashing, steady burn, flashing/steady burn three way switch model, incandescent, LED, etc. so would depend on what circuit the one you get has. The 400 is only available now as of a few years ago in three way switch and LED. No more incandescent.

The model I'm specifically curious about is the strobe model with the cylindrical refractor. do you know how bright it is?

I believe it was meant for dredge warning lighting and other marine applications but I'm not sure.

I haven't owned one before. I believe the older ones were available xenon and incandescent but the new ones are LED. I'd guess they're not that bright. There are also type D barricade lights which are just regular barricade lights but with a round lens.

That sucks, so they're probably about as bright as an LED is maybe? I'm hoping/wishing for that nice bright "pop" flash like the tow truck strobe light bars or at least something close ish... Alot of battery operated strobes I have had are super wimpy though.. Yeah I got plenty of LEDs I use for road side service on tractor trailers (type B flashers with cone adapter bases) but I am wanting a MUTCD approved battery operated strobe of some sort just for giggles to strap to the flexible sign I am required to use. The orange flags are lame and obviously don't light up so they're useless at night.

I have these things in the cones:

BL12LHS AMBER Type B https://a.co/d/fqFiE5J

Currently using 36 inch cones instead of the 28's though. The 28s blow over too much.  ;D

You can see my Amazon review of them. There is pictures in that. I forgot to post some here so I'm gonna have to do that now lol.

But yes I got side tracked. I wants a xenon strobe to add to the roadside kit!
