There is a strange phenomenon in my 70W R7s thallium lamp:

After the first use, the arctube blackened and it continues to looks like this to the present day.
What is this blackening? It don't changes to liquid or disappears when the lamp is hot.

Have this on blue and green lamps too. May be it has something to do with sodium getter add-on? Or is it just sloppy manufacturing?
