Philips F20T12 BLB. Made in USA vs Holland, quality? « on: August 11, 2010, 03:01:16 AM » Author: Luminaire
I noticed that one of the Home Depot had it in Made in USA and another in Made in Holland.  Rated life is 9,000 hours according to the sleeve.

I would think both lamps are about equally good.  The only truly JUNK lamps I have ever had are from China...with the exception of a few ALTOs!  LOL  I have some General Electric Chinese made F15BLBs and they really suck.  Life in my bug zapper is about half of what a good USA lamp is.  These made in Holland BL lamps have performed well in my bug zappers.

The "GE" F15T8/BLB is not a GE, at least some aren't.  The ones I've seen aren't even made by GE China.  They're "Manufactured for GE in China" as per the package.  GE China products say "Manufactured by GE".

These have the GE logo on them and the package has General Electric on it, just like the USA made ones.  The end caps and electrodes are super cheesie though!

Check out the sleeve carefully. If GE has it made for them, they can have the contract manufacturer put whatever they want for the etch.

You've seen my photo regarding this.

A good number of their CFLs (with GE logo and all) are made by its manufacturing contractor and the packages are labeled "Mfd FOR GE Consumer & Industrial".

Things GE make themselves say "Mfd BY GE"

Philips lamps from Holland IMO are very good not had much experience with USA made philips, I know the GE 8WT5 Specfill are Chinese and they seem OK! How CEF have there own brand of lamps "Edison" they are Chinese are are JUNK!
