Just wondering what the oldest fixture that you know of which has been serviced (re-lamped, cobbed, repaired, etc...) recently.

I know of a bunch of old clamshell fixtures (Westinghouse OV-20s and GE Form 400s) at a mobile home park at which my great grandma used to live. They all have LED corn lamps in them.

There are at least a fair amount of 1920s/1930s incandescent acorns in Pasadena, CA. The oldest in my area are LM Spherolite’s.

There are some 1950s-60s era lights near santamonica pier.

@Milwaukeeman2003, Have you got photos of the acorns?

Sadly no, but you can find photos of them here on LG.

Quite late to the party, I must admit. The town I live in has Sternberg metal halide teardrops, most have been cobbed, nothing too interesting. The neighboring city just south of me still has a plethora of 60s LM Unistyle 400s, a mix of modern and vintage NEMA heads (I've posted examples of both in my gallery), one induction streetlight, among some other things. Very interesting place, I'll have to go back down there sometime soon.

These are probably the oldest ones in Toronto. They are the predecessors to the (incandescent) gumballs and probably date back to the 1910s and 1920s. Most got replaced by gumballs in the 1930s and 1940s but these were in a private neighbourhood and got retained instead. They currently have 3000K LED lamps in them.

Another old install are the Palmerston Boulevard globe lights those date to the early 1900s/1910s and were originally incandescent. Over the years they were upgraded to PSMH using remote ballasts in the pole bases. Unfortunately the globes are not original. They are plastic dating back to the MH refit. However the poles and globe fitters are mostly original.

Here's another article on them.

Larger incandescent gumballs, not really outside of privately owned fixtures...the last one got replaced in 2012 with a MH gumball.

Radial waves, there's still handful of publicly owned ones in alleyways and some privately owned ones.

Interesting, thanks. Are most of the cooper (urb?) gumballs being replaced with cyclone katanas?

I once saw an old incandescent fixture, looks like a cap or disc, at my native village. It still is used every night from 9pm to 7am, and uses incandescent bulbs! The house nearby maintains it, and they have a huge pile of 40-100w incandescents (some brand new) from when nearby buildings switched to LED.

Unfortunately no images, but it has an olive green paint outside and white inside. It dosent have any bracket, the wire holds it. The cover has been repainted, and the  socket has been replayed many times due to rain.

If all goes well, that lamp will last for many decades more.

@Baked bagel 11 - There's still some Cooper URBs and King K215 (used as replacements and installs in the 2010s) gumballs but the Cyclone Kanatas are used for spot replacements and they have been graudally changing out the old MH gumballs with them. The Kanatas are 3000K which makes them look more like the old incandescent gumballs than the MH gumballs which use 4000K lamps.
