Hello, I’m looking for lights that are mentioned in the script for ambient lighting. Thanks!

HID, LPS, and preheat fluorescents forever!!!!!!

Would you be fine searching the British eBay and importing fixtures from the UK?
Just wondering because SOX low pressure sodium lighting is way more common in the UK. Additionally, if you have 240V split phase supplies, you should be good to go on running the fixtures at home. Otherwise, you might get away with a 120 to 240V step up transformer or 120 to 277V step up transformer.

I would probably have to wire the transformer outside of the fixture, so maybe not unless I can obtain a 120/240V ballast.

That's what I did a while ago. I got a Thorn Beta 2.

Buy one of the 90w FCO SOX lights off eBay and reballast it for 55W? According to the spec sheet for them, the 90w and 55w model used the same housing. The other option is to buy a UK light and either use a transformer or reballast it. I also have these on my radar but I'm too far to pick them up: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-buy-sell-other/thunder-bay/yard-lights/1694816564

Sorry for the late reply but sadly, I don’t have any LPS ballast or where I’m able to obtain one.

Here in the states, we commonly do use Fulham Workhorse electronic fluorescent ballasts to run SOX low pressure sodium lamps since they are often way cheaper than proper ballasts designed for SOX low pressure sodium lamps.

That's what I ended up doing on my Beta 6, which was a 120v 55w SOX fixture but had a blown ballast. It used a CGE F-Can ballast, I used a Fullham WH-5 with a bracket as the replacement ballast.

I’m incredibly sorry to hear that! But at least you got some stuff, and I’ll probably buy one the 90W fixtures because I would rather not have to deal with import tax.

That's a shame! My Restore still sells HID from time to time so I guess they still accept them. Would be interested seeing what you ended up getting though.
