LPS street light discontinuation « on: June 14, 2024, 03:23:28 AM » Author: Milwaukeeman2003
Just out of curiosity and unable to find information, does anyone know when companies like American Electric, Spaulding, etc. , discontinue their LPS fixtures? If so, I would really appreciate it.

American Electric discontinued the Series SRP in 2007, the Series SP2 in 2014, and the Series SRX in 2015.

Spaulding Lighting discontinued the Phoenix sometime in the early 1980's and the Palomar in 2006.

Visionaire Lighting discontinued the LPS - Roadway in 2018.

Allscape (Genlyte Solutions/Philips) discontinued the AL-08 in 2008.

Thanks for the info! I’m surprised about the SRX being discontinued that late as I assumed it was discontinued sometime in the 90’s.

Shame that I missed it. The reason why I like them is because they’re very common in my area.

I wonder if the Series SP2 and the Series SRX were kept alive for that long because of the city of San Jose, CA. They had both all over the city until 2019(?) or so. I've seen SRXs in San Diego, some of which are on series circuits. They are the only ones I know of and seen.

@LightsoftheWest - Do you know when the PL&S ones were discontinued?

@fluorescent lover 40 - Well, the RW Series is still showing that's not discontinued, but the PLSC website hasn't been copyrighted since 2010, so I don't know to be honest.

Regarding the SRXs, are the ones you're referring to on Kearny Villa Lane along the CA-163?

Oh okay. Thanks for letting me know.

I remember seeing some alongside a freeway in San Diego so those could be the ones. I remember seeing one on an old Union Metal pole with a underbraced S arm on a news segment a while back.

Does anyone have a link to the PLSC website?

PL&S’s addressed facility is still there and appears to be open recently, perhaps they’ve become an under-the-table company for custom lighting and such. However I’m pretty sure they don’t produce any LPS stuff, likely in years.

Those weren’t SRX’s then and I think I saw them on eBay.
