| I noticed Dollar Tree has the 3 way LED bulbs now, for $1.25. They’re the warm white too, which I prefer. I picked up a couple to try.
It’s nice to finally see AFFORDABLE 3 way LED bulbs, since most, are $6-7 each at other stores.

| Cool that they have them.
For $1.25, they're worth trying. I might also get one to try out eventually. I can't really speak for the three-way LEDs since I've never used any, but even some LEDs that cost quite a bit more that I've used don't last as long as they should.
I think only the 50-200-250w incandescent three-ways are still made. I've only seen GE ones. Haven't seen any modern Philips or Sylvania ones.

| I'll be honest here and say that as much as I like traditional light sources I just can't see running incandescent in the house anymore ! Between their inefficiency and heat output , no thank you ! It's hard enough to keep my house cool in the summer already !

| I got rid of most of my CFLs when LED became mainstream . I have only a handful of CFLs left . I despise the dim startup whch alot of them had !

| Columbus City Schools had one of their middle schools receive extensive damaged from a fire that was traced to a magnetic ballasted 4' troffer ! Hell , any form of lighting can cause a fire when something unexpected goes wrong !

| Anything can be a fire hazard when used outside the rated usage or when something unexpected goes wrong. As for CFLs, the 120v ones have more components inside, and combined with using bottom of the barrel parts, you have a pretty margin product to begin with. Some offbrand CFLs were well known at having rather spicy behavior if left on a EOL state for a extended period.
Now I think better quality CFLs, anything with the big 3's name on it tended to be safer. I also got rid of most of my CFLs when LED became decent enough, I still keep a few linear fluorescent fixtures around but CFLs never really appealed to me too much aside from the externally ballasted lamps or the old preheat ones.
With most lighting equipment, it's generally a good idea to relamp or at least disable EOL luminaires in a reasonable amount of time to reduce the risk of damage to the control gear which may lead to a risk of fire.
