I've been driving around rural areas of Pajala kommun in northern Sweden recently due to work related things and noticed interesting thing. Many houses in the rural area had one single streetlight in the intersection where private road leading to house connects to public roads. So even when there was overhead line going along side the road only poles at the intersections or places like where mailboxes are located had fixtures installed. Even single house without any neighbours close by could have single fixture in intersection. But not every house seemed to have this.
Since there are some Swedish members here I was wondering if anyone knows are those streetlights a public service available to every permanent residence or are those some sort of leased lights like in USA?
