I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I have read
here, and
here that the original GE is going to be nothing more than a name by next year. They have already spun off their healthcare division, and in 2024, they will spin off their energy division into GE Vernova, an entirely separate company. Then what's left of GE will just be spun off into GE Aerospace.
Does this sound familiar? It's also what happened to Westinghouse in the 1990s.
RIP Edison General Electric company.
1892-2024.
