Hermes delivery - anyone had experiences like this? « on: October 18, 2023, 10:35:07 AM » Author: Mr Lamp
So I ordered a lamp from Ebay on October 5th and it was shipped via Hermes on the next day. Now, the tracking has been stuck for almost a week! Last update was on October 12th and it says "The shipment was sorted and forwarded in Hamburg" or something like that.
Anyone know why this happens? And does anyone know how to contact Hermes? The seller is located in Austria.

Yes thats hermes, a blazing dumpster fire to be honest. It can stay there up to several months. Scrap the idea of contacting them. If you call you end up in india or pakistan in a call centre with people who are unable to speak your native language or englisch. An email is also useless as you'll get a atomated computer generated answer. Best is to avoid hermes entirely.

Having spoken to a Hermes courier that we got to know quite well, and he took real pride in his job, they can't contact anyone by phone.  :poof:

Thanks for the replies. I just contacted the seller and he said that he just contacted Hermes. Apparently they replied and said that they will initiate an investigation.

I do remember that a similar thing happened to me. :wndr:
Again the tracking was stuck for ages, so I contacted the seller and he went to the parcel shop, there was no sign of the parcel, and according to the tracking it should have still been there, so I was issued a refund without any quibbling.  :bulbman:

I had precisely the same experience on two out of three occasions when receiving something via Hermes.  That company is a total disgrace and doesn't deserve to be in business.  Completely impossible to get a meaningful response from them, and they even ignored the sender's requests to investigate or refund.  Finally about a month after giving up, both items did turn up.  But I was so disgusted by their service (or lack thereof) that I now make sure before buying anything from Germany that the seller doesn't plan to send via Hermes.  DPD is not much better either.  They are still contactable in case of problems but only when customers pay to call them via a premium rate telephone number.  Hopefully more and more customers will learn to avoid them, I would be delighted to hear one day that both of those diabolical companies have gone bankrupt.

Update: Apparently it DID arrive. I got an email from PostNord today, couple hours after checking the Hermes and seeing that the tracking is still stuck.

In my experience, I had a light fixture delivered from Hermes without much issues although some members in the past had some lamps that were destroyed by the Hermes shipping service.
