i saw this video of an old wall light being replaced but at timestamp 0:25 in the video they remove the cover of the old fixture and the bulb seems to be low pressure sodium but the tube inside is white almost as if it was fluorescent, so can someone tell me what kind of lamp was in the fixture. Thanks Video link: https://youtu.be/Z1nu5RhDx-s

I"m don't speak English well, and rely on online translating to write in this site. Please forgive me if my choice of my words looks like offensive, while that isn't my intention.
I only working with the international date format (dd.mm.yyyy).
I lives in Israel, which is a 220-240V, 50hz country.

Could be the lamp is actually broken. To me it looks like even the area just around the socket has whitened out - that would mean the lamp, at least the outer bulb, has lost its vacuum. Could be the cause was some external event causing the bulb to crack on multiple places so the air got in. Then if the Na oxidized, it turned into oxide or (with some humidity) a hydroxide, both being white powdery substances.

The arc tube has definitely come adrift from its mountings at the bend end, you can see how it is almost touching the outer envelope there. Pity they didn't just replace the SOX lamp with another one

The lamp is a 55 watt version, I think that’s what the original question was? , it’s certainly unusual to see a tube do this though?, I originally thought it looked SO for a second due to the white cap thing on the crest of the lamp?, but its BC cap proved it not to be

I wonder where was this fixture located. I thought it was the UK but then I saw them wire up the new fixture with wire nuts so probably not. Depending on ballast losses the LED might not use that much more power. Not sure about 55 SOX but my 18w SOX ballasts are kind of lossy, even for a magnetic ballast.

Murrieta is in California.
It and a lot of cities near the Palomar Observatory had some of the largest concentrations of SOX in the US. Along with the San Diego area. SOX can be still be found in those areas (mainly private businesses) but their numbers are rapidly dwindling.
